Environmental Governance

Aplinkosaugos referatas anglų kalba. The bright side of Global Climate Change fight. The dark side of Global Climate Change fight. Institutional solutions for seriously. threatened habitats and species. Current situation of polar bears and whales in Antarctica. Solutions and challenges for this current situation.

To cover the other side of Global Climate Change is a hard task. A lot of people think that the damage which is being done to our planet is caused by people. Statistics show that the majority of people think like if they even consider this problem. Despite that, every problem has two sides. That other side will be covered in this essay question. At the end of this question there will be some thoughts of former U.S. Vice-President Al Gore, who represents opposite of Bjorn Lomborg who disagrees with Al Gore’s theory. This will be done in order to give scientific arguments against Bjorn. Also both sides will be related to Green Radicalism and Ecological modernization.

Bjorn Lomborg is an ex-member of Green Peace. He is also an ’’adjunct professor at the Copenhagen Business School. He is the organizer of the Copenhagen Consensus Center, which brings together some of the world's top economists, including 5 Nobel laureates, to set priorities for the world. Time magazine named Lomborg one of the world's 100 most influential people in 2004. In 2008 he was named "one of the 50 people who could save the planet" by the UK Guardian; "one of the top 100 public intellectuals" by Foreign Policy and Prospect magazine; and "one of the world's 75 most influential people of the 21st century" by Esquire.’’

This tells a lot. To be an ex-member of this organization you have to wake up in some way. It means you have to change your beliefs. The same thought was covered in Oscar winning song of Al Gore’s film ’’Inconvenient truth’’. People need to wake up and Bjorn is one of the best examples considering Climate Change. In 2007 he wrote a book called ’’Cool It’’. This book is about the other side of Global Climate change fight. Bjorn Lomborg argues there ’’that many of the elaborate and expensive actions now being considered to stop global warming will cost hundreds of billions of dollars, are often based on emotional rather than strictly scientific assumptions, and may very well have little impact on the world's temperature for hundreds of years. Rather than starting with the most radical procedures, Lomborg argues that we should first focus our resources on more immediate concerns, such as fighting malaria and HIV/AIDS and assuring and maintaining a safe, fresh water supply-which can be addressed at a fraction of the cost and save millions of lives within our lifetime. He asks why the debate over climate change has stifled rational dialogue and killed meaningful dissent.’’ He agrees that there is Climate problem. One of the best ways to understand Bjorn Lomborg’s ideas is to cover some of them and try to find arguments for and against him. ...
